Customer Terms & Conditions
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing, registering with, or purchasing products or services through Scientific Emporium, the customer agrees to these Terms & Conditions, the Privacy Policy, Return & Refund Policy, Shipping & Delivery Policy, and other applicable platform policies.
2. Customer Account
Customers must provide accurate, complete, and current information when creating an account or placing an order. Customers are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their login credentials and for activities performed through their accounts.
3. Eligibility to Purchase
Certain scientific products may only be sold to qualified individuals, laboratories, universities, hospitals, pharmaceutical companies, research institutions, industries, or other authorized organizations. Scientific Emporium or its vendors may request institutional identification, licenses, permits, end-use information, or other documentation before processing an order.
4. Product Information
Scientific Emporium aims to provide accurate product descriptions, specifications, images, catalog numbers, availability, and pricing. Manufacturers or vendors may update specifications, packaging, labeling, or product information. Customers are responsible for verifying that a product is suitable for their intended application before purchasing or using it.
5. Research Use Only Products
Products marked "For Research Use Only (RUO)" are not intended for human or veterinary diagnostic, therapeutic, food, household, or other uses unless specifically approved and labeled for such purposes by the manufacturer and applicable authorities.
6. Chemicals and Hazardous Materials
Customers purchasing chemicals, biological materials, hazardous substances, compressed gases, or other regulated products are responsible for ensuring proper authorization, handling, storage, transportation, use, and disposal in accordance with applicable laws, manufacturer instructions, safety data sheets, and institutional safety procedures.
7. Pricing
Prices displayed on the platform may be subject to applicable VAT, taxes, hazardous-material charges, cold-chain charges, installation charges, or other fees. The final applicable charges should be presented to the customer before order confirmation where practicable.
8. Quotations
Quotations are valid only for the period stated in the quotation. Prices may change after expiration due to manufacturer pricing, currency exchange rates, freight costs, customs duties, taxes, or other factors.
9. Orders and Acceptance
Submission of an order does not necessarily constitute final acceptance. Scientific Emporium or the relevant vendor may confirm availability, price, payment, customer eligibility, regulatory requirements, and shipping conditions before accepting the order. Orders may be rejected or cancelled where there is a pricing error, stock issue, regulatory restriction, suspected fraud, or other legitimate reason.
10. Payment
Customers must make payment using payment methods accepted by the platform. Institutional customers may be eligible for purchase orders, approved credit terms, bank transfers, or other arrangements subject to separate approval and conditions.
11. Delivery
Estimated delivery times are provided for convenience and are not guaranteed unless expressly stated. Delays may occur due to manufacturer availability, import procedures, customs clearance, transportation disruption, regulatory requirements, weather, force majeure events, or other circumstances outside reasonable control.
12. Inspection Upon Delivery
Customers should inspect products promptly after delivery and report missing, damaged, incorrect, leaking, temperature-compromised, or defective items within the period specified in the Return & Refund Policy. Photographs, packaging information, batch or lot numbers, delivery documents, or other evidence may be requested.
13. Returns and Refunds
Return eligibility depends on product type, condition, and applicable platform policy. Products generally should be unused, unopened, undamaged, and in their original packaging. Prior authorization may be required before a return is accepted. Timing depends on inspection, vendor confirmation, payment-provider processing, and applicable law. If everything is in good condition, you will get a refund within 10 days after receiving the goods.
14. Non-Returnable Products
Unless defective, damaged, incorrectly supplied, or otherwise required by applicable law, the following products may not be eligible for return:
- Customized, configured, or special-order products
- Temperature-controlled or cold-chain products
- Perishable products
- Opened chemicals, reagents, or biological materials
- Products with compromised sterile or protective packaging
- Products with short expiration dates where the condition was disclosed before purchase
- Hazardous or regulated materials subject to transportation or return restrictions
15. Cancellation
Orders may generally be cancelled before processing or dispatch, subject to platform policy. Imported, customized, special-order, made-to-order, or manufacturer-confirmed products may not be cancellable or may be subject to reasonable cancellation charges where permitted.
16. Warranty
Products are subject to the manufacturer's applicable warranty. Scientific Emporium may facilitate warranty claims where appropriate. Installation, calibration, validation, preventive maintenance, annual maintenance contracts, and other after-sales services may be governed by vendor service terms.
17. Product Suitability and Safe Use
Customers are responsible for reviewing product specifications, compatibility, intended use, storage conditions, expiration information, safety information, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), Certificates of Analysis (COA), and manufacturer instructions before use. Customers must ensure that personnel using products are appropriately trained and authorized.
18. Prohibited Uses
Customers must not purchase or use products for unlawful, unauthorized, fraudulent, dangerous, or prohibited activities. Scientific Emporium reserves the right to restrict transactions involving controlled, restricted, regulated, or suspicious products or end uses.
19. Third-Party Vendors
Scientific Emporium may operate as a marketplace connecting customers with independent vendors. Where a product is sold by a third-party vendor, the product listing should identify the seller. Certain fulfillment, warranty, return, technical support, and service obligations may be performed by that vendor, subject to platform policies and applicable law.
20. Intellectual Property
The Scientific Emporium name, logo, website design, original content, and platform materials may not be copied, reproduced, distributed, or commercially used without authorization. Third-party trademarks, product images, manufacturer information, and other intellectual property remain the property of their respective owners.
21. Privacy and Data Protection
Customer information will be collected, stored, processed, and shared according to Scientific Emporium's Privacy Policy and applicable law. Information may be shared with vendors, logistics providers, payment processors, technology providers, or other service providers when reasonably necessary to complete transactions and provide services.
22. Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Scientific Emporium will not be responsible for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses arising from circumstances outside its reasonable control. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits rights or liabilities that cannot legally be excluded or limited.
23. Force Majeure
Scientific Emporium and participating vendors will not be responsible for delays or failures caused by events beyond reasonable control, including natural disasters, strikes, transportation disruption, government actions, import restrictions, epidemics, war, civil disturbance, major utility failures, or major system failures.
24. Fraud, Misuse, and Account Suspension
Scientific Emporium may suspend, restrict, or terminate accounts associated with fraudulent transactions, unauthorized access, false information, payment abuse, misuse of promotions, suspicious purchasing activity, or violations of platform policies or applicable law.
25. Changes to Terms
Scientific Emporium may update these Terms & Conditions periodically. Updated terms will be published on the platform with an effective date. Material changes should be communicated where required by applicable law.
26. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms should be governed by the applicable laws of Bangladesh. The final published version should specify the appropriate process and jurisdiction for resolving disputes, subject to mandatory consumer rights and other applicable laws.
27. Customer Support and Complaints
Customers may contact Scientific Emporium's customer service team regarding orders, payments, deliveries, returns, product information, technical questions, or complaints through the contact channels published on the platform.
28. Hazmat item delivery
For Acid, alcohol, or chloroform, the supplier and user need to submit their selling and user license to purchase. Without a license, no vendor is allowed to sell those products, and no user can purchase these from this platform. For other HAZMAT items, an organization's authorized work order is necessary.
